Key Qualifications:

• Valid teaching certification in Special Education
• Experience working with K-12 students with significant cognitive impairments
• Familiarity with creating and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with team members, students, and families
• Ability to adapt instructional strategies to diverse learning needs

Main Responsibilities:

• Serve as lead teacher for a caseload of 12 students, Monday through Friday from 7:15am-3:15pm (37.5 hours per week)
• Develop and deliver individualized instruction tailored to each student’s unique needs
• Oversee instructional team members, fostering a supportive and inclusive classroom environment
• Collaborate with related service providers and paraprofessionals to support student success
• Monitor and document student progress, adjusting plans as needed to achieve IEP goals
• Engage with families and caretakers to ensure strong support networks for students
