This unique contract opportunity invites a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to play an essential role in the special education process. A school district in the Wichita, KS area is seeking an experienced BCBA to conduct an independent Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA) as part of a student’s IEP evaluation. This is a great chance to lend your specialized expertise to support students in need and contribute meaningfully to decision-making around supportive services.

This position is in-person only; candidates must be able to travel to the district. The assignment will focus on performing a single independent FBA. The finalized schedule is being coordinated, but flexibility may be possible depending on candidate availability. Please note: The district is prioritizing local in-person candidates and may only consider virtual options if necessary.

Qualifications:

• Active BCBA certification required
• Demonstrated experience conducting school-based Functional Behavior Assessments
• Thorough understanding of IDEA process and special education evaluations
• Excellent communication and consultation skills
• Ability to present assessment findings in clear, parent-friendly language

Responsibilities:

• Complete an independent FBA as part of the IEP evaluation process
• Collaborate with district leadership and IEP teams to gather needed information
• Observe student(s), gather relevant data, and utilize evidence-based assessment tools
• Prepare a detailed assessment report and present findings to the IEP team
• Provide clear recommendations aligned with student needs and educational goals
