About the Position

Job Title: CT Technologist Profession: CT Technologist Specialty: Computed Tomography Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour shifts, varied times Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum 3 years License: Unexpired Driver’s License, WV X-ray License, WV CARES Certifications: BLS Certification, ARRT (CT) preferred or a minimum of 3-5 years CT experience Must-Have: Must be able to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment. IV experience required. Description: Unit is subject to a 50-mile radius rule. Candidates must disclose any licensing hits at the time of submission. The department has 2 CT rooms. Staffing consists of 3 technologists daily, with some nursing support for IVs and administering premeds. Common types of imaging studies performed include head, chest, abdomen, pelvis, extremities, and biopsies. Department offers training in performing biopsies if necessary. The average number of scans/studies performed per day is around 65. The EMR used is Community Works and the PACS system is Intellirad/Intelliconnect. Department-specific equipment includes GE VCT 64 slice and Siemens Somatom Definition 64 slice. Radiologists are in-house from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and available on call afterward. Response time for call or standby requirements is not applicable. Employees can wear any clean and professional color of scrubs. Permanent staff wear emerald green scrubs, though it is not mandatory for travelers. Department-specific orientation consists of 5 shifts with a preceptor. The department may require staff to start IVs. Employees work a 2-on, 2-off, 3-on shift rotation. Overnight, employees may be the only technologist in-house within their department. There may be weekend requirements of every other weekend. Holiday requirements may include participation in holiday rotation. Cancellation policy allows client to cancel 2 shifts per 13-week assignment and 1 shift for assignments less than 13 weeks.
