Let's rewrite the rules together.Position SummaryThe Staff Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end and year-end close processes, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls. This role is ideal for a motivated accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment and enjoys contributing to a company focused on health, fitness, and community.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare and post journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger maintenanceAssist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processesReconcile bank statements, credit card accounts, and merchant processing accountsSupport accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as neededPrepare financial reports and schedules for management reviewAssist in the preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAPSupport budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis effortsMaintain fixed asset schedules and depreciation recordsAssist with sales tax filings and other regulatory reporting requirementsSupport internal and external audits by preparing documentation and schedulesIdentify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controlsPerform other accounting duties and special projects as assignedQualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required2+ years of relevant accounting experience (fitness, retail, or multi-location business experience a plus)Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting principlesProficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar ERP systems)Excellent attention to detail and organizational skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environmentStrong written and verbal communication skillsHigh level of integrity and ability to handle confidential informationPreferred QualificationsCPA candidate or actively pursuing CPA licensureExperience with multi-location or franchise business accountingFamiliarity with fitness industry membership/billing platforms
