Mammography Technologist Per Diem (7321-Minnetonka)

Overview ON-site Women’s Health offers per diem opportunities in mammography. The program focuses on convenient breast cancer screening by integrating mammography and breast care within the patient’s primary care or OB/GYN practice and coordinating appointments with annual exams. The opportunity emphasizes flexible scheduling, the ability to cover on short notice, and exposure to different office environments. The program uses 3D tomosynthesis digital mammography equipment in an OB/Gyn office setting. The program aims to provide convenient, patient-centric breast care to support compliance with screening recommendations. Responsibilities Specialize in the production of screening and diagnostic mammograms for the detection of breast cancers and lesions. Support the initial and ongoing success of the mammography service in the practice; assist to ensure all eligible age-appropriate patients have annual screening mammograms. Prepare patients for the mammographic procedure and explain procedures to reduce anxieties and obtain patient cooperation. Position mammographic equipment and adjust controls to set exposure factors according to radiographic exposure techniques and protocols. Apply radiation protection techniques using beam restrictive devices and patient shielding skills; follow prescribed safety standards in operating all required equipment. Examine digital images for image quality and ensure equipment is in proper working order at all times. Perform all required QA testing to comply with MQSA, ACR and state requirements/regulations. Maintain patient confidentiality and handle routine paperwork and data entry. Engage in professional development and maintain professional affiliations as required. Prepare all required reports and data pursuant to MQSA and state requirements; assist radiologist with QA/QC reporting and mammography tracking per MQSA guidelines. Maintain QA documents to exceed annual FDA inspection requirements and obtain/maintain ACR accreditation. Qualifications Must be up to date on all CME credits. Must be patient-centric, compassionate, and computer savvy. Able to perform a variety of technical activities associated with screening and diagnostic mammography. Flexible with the ability to multi-task and willing to cover on short notice. Experience Mammography: 2 years (Required) License ARRT (Required)
