Registered Nurse (RN) Post-Partum

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Post-Partum unit. This position will involve providing care to mothers and newborns during their recovery period, ensuring adherence to AWHONN guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage postpartum care for mothers and newborns, focusing on newborn transition and post-delivery magnesium management.
• Administer and titrate drips as necessary.
• Collaborate with the charge nurse and physician staff to ensure high-quality care.
• Assist with triaging and monitoring patient conditions.
• Document and evaluate patient care and progress.
• Participate in unit orientation and training programs.

Unit Information

• Unit Type: Mother Baby (Post Partum)
• 32 Postpartum beds with an average of 4000 births per year.
• Follow AWHONN guidelines for nurse-patient ratios.
• Available support includes OBHG in-house 24/7, with Neonatologists and NICU advanced practice providers available as needed.
• Unit equipment includes RT equipment for NICU patients.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a similar environment.
• Active BLS Certification and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required.
• Experience with preeclampsia, gestational diabetes, high BMI cases, and substance abuse disorders is preferred.
• Ability to float to Labor & Delivery for normal newborn transitions.

Work Schedule

• This position requires 12-hour shifts.
• Night shifts, weekends, and holidays may be required.
• Call or standby may be necessary based on patient census.

Candidates must comply with COVID-19 vaccination requirements. Staff will work with hospital scrubs or personal scrubs in the post-partum unit.
