Medical Lab Scientist – GeneralistMostly 8-hour shifts; some 10-hour shifts (typically 4x10s). Rotating weekends after full competency. On-call: Yes, as needed.Contract Length: Not specified. Guaranteed Hours: Not specified.Minimum 2 years of experience. Required certifications: ASCP, ASCP-MLS, ASCP-MLT, MLS or MLT. Blood Bank experience required. Experience with charting system: Epic. Phlebotomy experience is a plus. Key clinical skills in hematology, chemistry, blood bank, and microbiology.Perform laboratory tests and analyses across various disciplines including hematology, blood bank, and chemistry. Conduct specimen handling including accessioning, collection, preparation, storage, labeling, and quality assurance/control. Execute blood bank procedures such as crossmatching and transfusion reaction workup. Maintain compliance with safety and quality assurance standards. Collaborate with healthcare team members to interpret test results and support patient care. Provide guidance and support to less experienced staff as needed.Background checks and drug screens may be required. Must have a vehicle for this assignment. Requested time off: Up to 6 total days or 3 consecutive days auto-approved; more than 6 days requires approval. Must commit to working 3 of the following 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day. Pre-start modules may average ~16 hours (non-billable).City: Newberg.
