Environmental Aide I - PT (3:00pm-11:00pm) CMC

Atlantic Health Chilton Medical Center is seeking a Part-Time Environmental Aide I (Housekeeping) for the Environmental Services Department. Required hours are: 3:00PM - 11:00PM, including weekends. Starting rate: $18.50/hr Essential Function/Responsibilities: * Utilizes appropriate cleaning equipment in cleaning all nursing units, patients' rooms and all other designated facility areas, including the floors, woodwork, sills, vents, sinks, furniture etc. * Follows the department's policies and procedures on cleaning, disinfecting and deodorization. * Cleans up major spills when necessary and responds to pages in a timely manner.

• Cleans and restocks housekeeping carts at the end of each shift.
• Removes all trash and linen within the hospital.
• Follows directions carefully for cleaning solution preparations and handling

of bio-hazard materials.

• Makes periodic checks for environmental needs in the assigned area.
• Reports any repairs to maintenance.
• Keeps abreast of changes in environmental services by attending monthly

department meetings. * Handles moderately complex issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.

• Position includes cleaning of bodily fluids.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements: * HS Diploma or GED/Equivalent required or will obtain within 1 year of employment. * To provide a safe environment to our patients, we require that all candidates must be able to read, write and speak English.

• Solid work history a must.
• Need to meet the fit testing requirement.
• Must be able to lift, push, pull up to 50 lbs.

Relevant Experience: * Prior experience in housekeeping in either a hospital or institutional setting or a related field preferred. * Prior Floor-care experience preferred.
