Cardiovascular Technician I

Schedule: 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM, 4x10s. No weekends. No on-call.

Job Description

The Cardiovascular Tech I will assist physicians with all procedures in the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory, including but not limited to Cardiac Catheterization, Angioplasty, Atherectomy, and Intra-vascular Ultrasound. Responsibilities include preparing sterile trays, assisting in patient monitoring, and performing technical tasks to ensure efficient procedural execution.

Core Responsibilities

• Prepare sterile trays and organize specific equipment for procedures.
• Prepare patients for procedures, including EKG lead attachment and draping.
• Assist with transducer calibration and testing for accurate pressure readings.
• Support physicians during diagnostic and interventional procedures.
• Operate digital cine technologies for patient imaging and records.
• Assist with inventory control and maintain technical equipment.
• Respond to emergency situations to maintain patient well-being.

Required Experience & Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory or an invasive procedure area in an acute care hospital.
• 6-12 months experience in a CVT accredited program or 2 years in another cardiac vascular laboratory.
• Familiarity with computers, hemodynamic monitoring, and sterile operative techniques.
• High school diploma or equivalent; BS preferred.
