Production Associate (Afternoons) Job

Job Title: Production Associate (Afternoons) Company: Armstrong World Industries (Steel Ceilings, Inc.) Location: Johnstown, Ohio, 43031 Employment Status: Full‑Time Responsibilities Manufacture, assemble, and package Steel Ceilings products per team lead or supervisor direction. Perform material handling, crating, machine helper duties, and miscellaneous tasks such as machine operation (turrets, brakes, presses, panel benders, tube benders, etc.). Maintain a clean, safe working area (sweeping, emptying dumpsters, trash cans, etc.). Follow all Company and OSHA Safety Policies. Ensure quality, output, and safety standards are adhered to and improved. Keep accurate records of production, waste, and quality checks. Properly maintain equipment. Demonstrate a high level of customer focus while protecting safety and the environment. Commit to and follow facility Mission, Vision, and Values supporting AWI Operating Principles. Participate in required company training programs. Conform to company policies and procedures. Maintain a clean and organized work area; sweep floors and empty trash containers daily. Education and Experience Prior manufacturing, assembly, material movement, or machine operator experience preferred. Knowledge of metal manufacturing materials, fabrication processes, and machinery preferred. Ability to learn how to operate a forklift and other company vehicles. Work Environment This position operates in a manufacturing setting and can be subject to extreme cold and hot temperatures; uneven walking surfaces with cords, tools, and other obstacles; intermittent loud noises; and dusty or dirty conditions. Basic PPE required: safety glasses, earplugs, and steel‑toe/composite boots. Specific PPE and training will be provided for activities requiring additional accommodations. Physical Demands Regularly required to talk or hear; frequently stand or walk for the majority of the workday; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; occasionally sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Must frequently lift and move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 75 pounds. Vision requirements include close and distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Reasonable accommodations may be made.
