What you’ll do

• Haul 53' trailers between our Epping shop, customer locations and vendors
• Couple and uncouple trailers, and secure loads properly for safe road travel
• Complete pre- and post-trip inspections and keep accurate DVIRs and logs
• Look over trailers coming in for repair and report damage or any safety concerns before moving them
• When not driving, perform light mechanic work and maintenance on trucks and trailers, such as PM services, lights and wiring, tires, and fluids
• Keep your truck in safe operating condition and report larger repairs to the shop
• Help with parts pickups, equipment moves and general shop support
• Keep tools and work areas clean and organized, and follow all safety protocols and PPE requirements

What you need

• A valid Class A CDL and at least 2 years of commercial driving experience
• Able to drive both automatic and manual transmission trucks (no “E” restriction on your CDL)
• Proven experience hauling 53' trailers
• Basic mechanical skills and comfort working with hand and power tools
• A clean driving record (MVR will be reviewed)
• A current DOT medical card
• Ability to pass a DOT pre-employment drug test and an FMCSA Clearinghouse query
• Working knowledge of DOT inspection standards and safety rules
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs, climb in and out of equipment, and work outdoors in New England weather
• Reliable transportation to Epping, NH, and dependable attendance

Nice to have

• Prior experience as a diesel, truck or trailer technician
• Experience performing PM services on heavy-duty trucks
