You do not need years of Field Service experience to be considered. The company has a strong training program and is willing to invest in entry-level technicians with the right mechanical aptitude, technical education, and desire to learn.You’ll receive hands-on training alongside experienced Field Service Engineers while learning to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair sophisticated CNC laser and automated manufacturing equipment.Why This Opportunity Stands OutStrong entry-level opportunity – extensive training provided for candidates with the right technical foundation~6-month training and development ramp from preventative maintenance and installations into advanced troubleshootingWork with high-end CNC, laser, automation, and machine-tool technologyWork directly with customers and develop valuable technical and communication skillsOpportunities to grow into leadership, technical support, sales, account management, and other rolesJoin a global manufacturing technology company with a strong reputation and long history in the industryWork alongside experienced technicians who will help you develop your skillsMonday–Friday schedule with weekends typically optionalHome every weekend, even when traveling for longer installationsWhat You'll DoYour schedule will be provided at the beginning of each week, and you'll travel directly to customer facilities throughout the region.Depending on your experience and training level, your responsibilities may include:Installing and commissioning new CNC machinery at customer facilitiesPerforming preventative maintenance on industrial equipmentTroubleshooting mechanical and electrical issuesDiagnosing problems involving motors, sensors, controls, hydraulics, pneumatics, and other machine systemsProgressively taking on more complex repair and troubleshooting callsCommunicating directly with customers throughout service callsDocumenting equipment issues, repairs, and work performedWorking alongside senior Field Service Engineers while developing your technical expertiseMost weeks involve approximately 2–3 customer sites, with travel planned strategically whenever possible.Training & Career DevelopmentThe company is particularly interested in developing early-career technical talent.New hires will begin with approximately one week of orientation and 1–2 weeks of technical training at the company's Midwest facility before being paired with experienced Field Service Engineers in the field.The first several months will focus heavily on:Preventative maintenanceMachine installationsLearning the company's equipmentUnderstanding machine controls and systemsDeveloping troubleshooting skillsAs your knowledge and confidence grow, you'll gradually transition into more advanced repair and troubleshooting work.What We're Looking ForRequiredTechnical certificate, Associate's degree, military technical training, or relevant hands-on experienceBackground in Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, Electrical, Automation, CNC/Machining, Mechanical Technology, or a related technical fieldStrong mechanical aptitude and an interest in understanding how machinery worksBasic understanding of electrical and mechanical systemsStrong communication and customer service skillsAbility to document technical work clearlyWillingness to travel Monday–Friday throughout the regionComfortable working independently while representing the company directly with customersPreferredField Service or Industrial Maintenance experienceCNC equipment experienceExperience operating, maintaining, repairing, or troubleshooting machine toolsExperience with lasers, press brakes, tube processing, automation, or other industrial machineryKnowledge of 3-phase power, 480V systems, motors, sensors, controls, hydraulics, or pneumaticsExperience troubleshooting complex mechanical/electrical equipmentEntry-level candidates are encouraged to apply. A strong technical foundation and mechanical aptitude can be more important than years of experience.TravelThis is a Monday–Friday regional travel position, with technicians returning home for the weekend.Travel may include:Personal vehicle with mileage reimbursement for shorter tripsRental vehicles for longer drivesAir travel when customer locations are beyond reasonable driving distanceCompany travel/expense management toolsPer diem for meals while travelingMost assignments are day trips or short overnight trips, although occasional installations may require being away during the week.
