Job Summary

The role involves delivering direct nursing care in line with the established policies, procedures, and protocols of our organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Enhance the quality of care and life for patients, families, and significant others by evaluating nursing practices systematically.
• Build effective relationships and advocate for patients and their families to create personalized care plans.
• Utilize the nursing process to formulate and execute care plans, gather assessment data, establish nursing diagnoses, and evaluate patient outcomes.
• Develop management strategies considering various dimensions of human responses to health issues.
• Demonstrate understanding of how illnesses affect patients' physical, social, and emotional well-being.
• Exhibit leadership by collaborating with patients, families, and the healthcare team to assess needs and plan interventions.
• Engage in effective communication with patients and families to ensure culturally sensitive and ethical care.
• Educate patients and families on health maintenance and comfort measures.
• Promote a healthy work environment by mentoring nursing colleagues and students.
• Apply evidence-based practices in medical-surgical nursing to meet age-specific and clinical needs.
• Maintain a state of alertness and safety in all activities.
• Conduct point-of-care testing as per established guidelines.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate from an accredited nursing program or equivalent educational background for licensing.
• Experience: Minimum of one year as a registered nurse.

Physical Requirements

• Regularly communicate verbally to share information.
• Frequent standing and walking.
• Occasional lifting and carrying of objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Frequent use of vision for near and far distances, as well as color differentiation.
• Regularly utilize hearing to receive communication and detect alarms.
• Occasional driving and physical movements such as bending and twisting.

Licenses and Certifications

Required certifications vary by state:

• Illinois: Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association and Registered Nurse (RN) license from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.
• Missouri: BLS from the American Heart Association and RN license from the Missouri Division of Professional Registration or Compact State.
• Oklahoma: BLS from the American Heart Association and RN license from the Oklahoma Board of Nursing or Compact State.
• Wisconsin: BLS from the American Heart Association and RN license from the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services or Compact State.
