Job Summary

T he Technology Quality Technician is responsible for performing quality control inspections, testing, documentation, and results reporting to verify that parts, materials, assemblies, and finished products meet established engineering specifications, customer requirements, and applicable quality standards.

Job Description

• Perform end-of-line and in-process quality inspections of raw materials, parts, components, subassemblies, and finished products.
• Inspect products and documentation against engineering drawings, specifications, customer requirements, quality requirements, and applicable inspection procedures.
• Verify dimensional, chemical, mechanical, and material characteristics using appropriate calibrated measurement and testing equipment.
• Perform manufacturing and engineering tests in accordance with approved procedures, test plans, and standard work.
• Assist with the design, preparation, and setup of tests, fixtures, and inspection equipment.
• Verify traceability and conformance documentation for materials, components, assemblies, finished products, and spare parts.
• Perform final inspection of finished products and spare parts prior to shipment to verify compliance with customer requirements.
• Interpret engineering drawings, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), and applicable industry and material specifications.
• Use measurement and inspection equipment such as: Calipers and micrometers, Indicators and comparators, Surface plates, Torque wrenches, Hardness testers, Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM), Vision systems, XRF alloy analyzers, OES alloy analyzers, FT-IR material comparators
• Ensure measurement systems used for inspection are properly calibrated and have acceptable repeatability and reproducibility.
  
• When authorized, perform calibration of measurement systems.
  
• Follow applicable inspection procedures, standard work, test plans, and safety requirements.
  
• Document inspection and test results accurately and completely.
  
• Monitor and verify the stability of inspection and test results over time, where practical.
  
• Maintain accurate quality records and computer-based filing systems to support product traceability.
  
• Scan and upload quality documentation into electronic document storage systems.
  
• Maintain and update Quality Assurance and Quality Control files.
  
• Utilize local software applications and SAP to complete quality-related transactions and maintain records.
  
• Provide input and recommendations for improving inspection procedures, test methods, standard work, and quality processes.
  
• Apply Manufacturing System principles and tools to support continuous improvement activities where applicable.
  
• Participate in the creation and review of Hazard Analyses and Risk Controls associated with inspection and testing activities.
  
• Perform all inspection and testing activities in a safe manner and comply with applicable PPE and workplace safety requirements.
  
• Support other Quality Assurance/Quality Control projects and duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Skills Required

• Strong quality mindset and exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, correspondence, procedures, and memoranda.
• Ability to write basic correspondence and accurately document inspection and test results.
• Ability to effectively communicate information in one-on-one and small-group situations with customers, clients, and employees.
• Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out written, verbal, and diagram-based instructions.
• Ability to resolve problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and word-processing software.
• One or more years of experience in typing and filing, preferably in an Inspection, Quality Assurance, or Quality Control environment.
• Ability to interact professionally with Company and Customer personnel.

Preferred

• Experience interpreting and applying ISO/IEC, ASTM, ANSI, ASME, MIL-SPEC, NQA-1, IEEE, and/or AS requirements.
• Experience with dimensional inspection and GD&T.
• Experience using precision measurement and material identification equipment.
• Previous experience in aerospace, military, nuclear-supporting, or other highly regulated manufacturing industries.
• Experience working with electronic quality/document management systems.
• Experience with SAP or similar enterprise resource planning systems.

Education/Training/Certification

• High School Diploma or GED

Additional Requirements

• Shif t: 5:00 AM – 1:30 PM. Overtime available as needed, especially toward end of month production pushes.

Pay Rate

• $22 - $24 per hour (Compensation will be offered within this posted range based on experience, skills, and market factors)
