Adaptable, self-aware, and steady under pressure, they continuously develop others, improve processes, and create an environment where people are empowered to grow, collaborate, and deliver exceptional results.RESPONSIBILITIES:Manage and direct all engineering and program management activities following the Motus product development processLead/coach the product development team to ensure engineering risk is managed by utilizing engineering best practices and lessons learned. Develop robust designs for cut, sew, and wrap interior trim Motus products that can be manufactured efficiently and profitablySuccessfully launch new products for Motus that meet key launch performance indicatorsImprove year-over-year launch program financials through the product development processManage product development (launch) budgets fiscally through completion of programOversee the delivery of CAD models and product drawings accurately and on time to internal and external customersGive input on product knowledge and customer insight within category team to ensure product development is aligned with all key customer requirements and meets financial measurements Introduce and refine new product concepts through the development process ensuring that technical and quality standards are achieved while maximizing profitability Developing team capability through task focused coaching to ensure maximum performance and development to their potentialActively support targeted new business acquisition initiatives and projects by leading technical sales support effortsSupport program engineering efforts, manufacturing launch projects, and manufacturing improvement initiativesDrive ongoing cost reduction activities without compromising product performanceIdentify standard Bill of Material and Bill of Process for productsWork with costing to ensure competitive assumptions are maintained in our cost assumptionsMaintains a safe and effective prototype facility and manages prototype staffREQUIREMENTS:Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related fieldA broad knowledge of automotive manufacturing, specifically interior soft trim components7+ years’ experience with product development5+ years’ experience in leadership roleExperience in design/CAD, plastic injection molding, and foam injectionExcellent time management skills and ability to follow up in a timely mannerStrong written and verbal communication skillsWho We AreMotus Integrated Technologies is a dynamic, almost half-billion-dollar global leader in manufacturing high-quality headliners, and interior trim solution products for the automotive industry.
