Controller

seeking a highly motivated and hands-on Controller to lead the company's accounting and financial operations while developing into the future Chief Financial Officer (CFO) . This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional who is eager to grow into an executive leadership role and help shape the financial strategy of a growing manufacturing company. This position requires someone who enjoys working in a collaborative, entrepreneurial environment and is comfortable wearing multiple hats. The Controller will oversee all day-to-day accounting functions while partnering with company leadership to improve profitability, streamline financial processes, and support strategic business decisions. This is a fully on-site position in Elkin, NC. Remote or hybrid work is not available. Key Responsibilities Manage all accounting operations, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and Fixed Assets. Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes. Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting. Manage cash flow forecasting and working capital. Oversee banking relationships and financing activities. Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal financial controls. Coordinate annual audits and tax preparation with outside CPA firms. Business Leadership Partner with ownership to develop financial strategies that support company growth. Analyze financial performance and identify opportunities to improve profitability. Develop KPIs and financial dashboards for leadership. Support pricing strategies, cost analysis, and capital investment decisions. Provide financial insight for operational improvements and business planning. Lead and mentor accounting staff. Improve accounting processes and internal controls. Implement best practices and continuous process improvements. Foster collaboration across finance, operations, and executive leadership. Qualifications Bachelor\'s degree in Accounting or Finance required. CPA or CMA preferred. 5+ years of progressive accounting and financial leadership experience. Manufacturing experience strongly preferred. Experience with cost accounting and inventory management. Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. ERP system experience preferred. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Demonstrated leadership potential and a desire to advance into a CFO role.
