RN - Oncology

Registered Nurse - Oncology Care Unit

Location: Richmond, VA

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, 3 12-hour shifts per week with every third weekend required.

Job Description: We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) for the Oncology Care Unit. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in a hospital setting, particularly with oncology patients. You will play a critical role in patient care, collaborating with healthcare teams to ensure the best outcomes for your patients.

Responsibilities:

• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
• Monitor patient vital signs and report significant changes
• Maintain accurate patient records in the Meditech system
• Provide emotional support and education to patients and families
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• 2 years of experience in a hospital setting
• Must hold an active Compact RN license at the time of submission
• BLS certification is required
• Advanced skills or willingness to learn to access portacath
