Registered Nurse Medical Surgical/Tele

Job Summary:

The registered nurse will provide comprehensive care on a locked incarcerated unit, supporting the prison population with a focus on inpatient and forensic units. The role requires adaptability to float across various units, including ICU when needed, while adhering to safety and compliance standards.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Assess and monitor patient conditions, ensuring timely intervention and documentation.
  
  
• 
  Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and hospital protocols.
  
  
• 
  Maintain a secure environment by following safety procedures specific to the incarcerated setting.
  
  
• 
  Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and update individualized patient care plans.
  
  
• 
  Participate in holiday rotation, working three of six designated holidays, with schedule flexibility for swaps.
  
  
• 
  Complete required compliance training and certifications prior to start, including HealthStream modules and exams.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Hold a valid TN state license or multi-state compact license at the time of submission.
  
  
• 
  Possess at least 1 year of acute care or medical-surgical/telemetry experience.
  
  
• 
  Maintain current BLS, ACLS, NIH, and CPI certifications or MAB equivalent.
  
  
• 
  Be comfortable working with the incarcerated population, including float to various units like forensics, inpatient, and ICU.
  
  
• 
  Demonstrate excellent clinical assessment, communication, and teamwork skills.
