Job Description
Licensed Practical Nurse - Correctional Healthcare

Schedule

Shifts available include days, afternoons, and evenings.

Assignment Details

Contract length ranges from 26 to 52 weeks.

Requirements

• Current, valid LPN license for New York State (or limited permit)
• BLS certification
• Approximately 1 year of nursing experience is preferred
• Experience in medical-surgical, ambulatory care, or mental health settings is a plus

Responsibilities

• Provide medication administration, including controlled substances
• Conduct vital signs, basic assessments, and health screenings
• Administer wound care and manage dressing changes
• Respond to emergency situations and maintain composure in crises
• Perform common procedures, including IM/SQ injections and catheter care
• Implement infection control practices and utilize PPE

Compliance / Notes

Mustenforce a state-run Criminal History Form clearance prior to starting, which may take up to 4 weeks. Documentation required includes SSN, DOB, valid state license, and BLS certification.
