Human Resource Assistant 2 PositionThe Department of Corrections (DOC) Human Resource Office Region 4 is seeking to fill a Human Resource Assistant 2 position. This role performs human resource work within the DOC HR Office at SCI (State Correctional Institution) Somerset and Laurel Highlands. You will serve as the primary time advisor by ensuring leave is coded correctly, auditing work completed by timekeepers, providing guidance, and managing the submission of requests that affect employee time, pay, and leave. As a Human Resource Assistant 2, you will perform the following duties: Time Record Audits: Examine daily reports and correct errors as needed, complete quarterly post audit reviews, and submit all appropriate documentation for both Timekeeping Guidance: Train new timekeepers, research payroll problems, and respond to employee questions on payroll, overtime, attendance, leave usage, and related matters System Input Reviews: Check work to ensure facility timekeepers are coding employee time accurately and in accordance with policy and contract requirements Leave Usage Monitoring: Review individual employee time records to ensure leave is used in accordance with rules and to track long-term changes in employee status Employment Transaction Processing: Prepare paperwork and update internal systems for leave payouts, separations, schedule changes, and other employee action requestsInterested in learning more? Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to one day per week, after successful completion of a six-month probationary period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Somerset. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Check your email, including spam/junk folders, for these notices.Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:One year as a Human Resource Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); orOne year of clerical or other comparable experience and one year of beginning level paraprofessional human resource or equal opportunity work; orAn equivalent combination of experience and training.Other Requirements:You must meet the PA residency requirement.
