Travel Nursing Job Details Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,980–$2,080 Assignment Duration: 10 weeks Start Date: November 13, 2026 End Date: January 22, 2027 Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 12-hour day shifts Shift Hours: 7:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. Hours per Week: 36 Healthcare Setting: Short-term acute-care hospital with Level II trauma services Unit: 23-bed telemetry and major surgery unit Typical Patient Assignment: Approximately 1:5 on day shifts Charting: Epic Scheduling: Block scheduling may be available; weekend coverage and holiday rotation are required according to department needs Floating: Float as needed, including to a nearby campus Dress Code: Royal blue scrubs Travel Registered Nurse Job Requirements Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Connecticut, or eligibility to obtain one before the assignment start date At least 2 years of recent Telemetry Registered Nurse or comparable acute-care nursing experience Telemetry experience required; first-time travel nurses are welcome Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Proficiency with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, post-operative care, and management of complex adult patients Experience with Epic electronic health records is preferred Ability to work every other weekend and participate in the department’s holiday rotation Telemetry and Post-Operative Nursing Responsibilities Provide safe, comprehensive nursing care to adult and geriatric telemetry patients Deliver pre- and post-operative care for patients recovering from CABG, TAVR, general, bariatric, and thoracic procedures Continuously monitor telemetry, recognize changes in cardiac rhythm, and promptly escalate clinical concerns Manage cardiac and vasoactive medications according to unit protocols and scope of practice Perform patient assessments, medication administration, IV therapy, central-line care, chest-tube care, wound care, and surgical-drain management Support patients requiring oxygen therapy, feeding tubes, urinary management, PCA therapy, and other post-operative interventions Collaborate with physicians, rapid response teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, rehabilitation, radiology, and social services Float to other assigned units or a nearby campus as needed while maintaining high standards of patient safety and nursing care Document patient care accurately in Epic and participate in discharge education and care coordination Explore this Connecticut travel nursing opportunity in Bridgeport, with convenient access to coastal New England, Long Island Sound, New Haven, and the greater New York area.
