Grade Foreman

Grade ForemanCaton Construction Group is growing! Currently seeking a Grade Foreman for our roadway construction project in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina (Cornelius).The Grade Foreman is a field position that is responsible to organize and lead a crew to safely and efficiently perform mass earthwork and excavating activities, balancing highway and road construction/reconstruction. The Foreperson works under the general direction of the Superintendent.Essential functions include coordinating construction work according to priorities and plans, planning, organizing and leading grading crew, producing schedules and monitoring attendance of crew, allocating general and daily responsibilities, coordinating tasks according to priorities and plans, scheduling aggregate material quantities and deliveries, determining trucking needs and scheduling trucks, supervising and training workers and tradespeople, ensuring labor and other resources are adequate, guaranteeing all safety precautions and quality standards are met, supervising the use of machinery and equipment, monitoring expenditure and ensuring it remains within budget, resolving problems when they arise, and reporting on progress to managers, engineers, etc.This is a full-time position. Normal days and hours of work are Monday – Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. with time provided for lunch, hours may vary. Work may be local or out of town in which case overnight stays are required. This position frequently requires long hours and weekend work.Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected. Driver's license is required. Assigning work to subordinates, as well as establishing deadlines and modifying work schedules to meet deadlines as needed.Required education and experience includes a high school diploma or equivalent, proven experience as construction foreman, and a diploma in a skilled trade (electrician, carpenter, etc.) a plus.Why you should apply: Excellent working environment, working for a company that cares about your success, working for a growing company with great benefits!
