Job Description

Day-to-Day:

• Lead end-to-end product delivery across frontend, backend, data, and AI platform layers

• Architect and build scalable cloud-native platform solutions and services

• Develop AI-enabled features including semantic search, RAG pipelines, and agentic workflows

• Build and optimize React-based user interfaces for performance and scalability

• Design and implement Databricks data pipelines using medallion architecture and Unity Catalog

• Develop event-driven microservices and messaging solutions using Kafka or equivalent technologies

• Drive platform observability, incident management, and reliability improvements

• Champion CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, security best practices, and engineering standards

• Provide technical leadership through architecture guidance and code reviews

Job Description:

Insight Global is seeking a Product Development Engineer for a top engineering and technology consulting client. This candidate will serve as a principal-level contributor responsible for building and enhancing enterprise-scale digital products and AI-powered platforms. The ideal candidate will own the full product lifecycle, from frontend development and backend services to data pipelines and AI feature implementation. They will architect cloud-native solutions, develop scalable microservices, optimize platform performance, and drive innovation across modern technologies including React, Node.js/.NET, Databricks, and AI/LLM solutions. This is an opportunity for a highly technical engineer to make key architectural decisions, influence engineering standards, and help deliver cutting-edge products that support both internal operations and client-facing solutions.

Skills and Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent hands-on experience)

• 10+ years of professional software development experience

• Strong full-stack development expertise with React (or similar modern framework) and Node.js/.NET backend services

• Advanced PostgreSQL or equivalent relational database experience

• Experience designing event-driven microservices using Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar messaging platforms

• Production experience with either Databricks/big-data pipelines OR LLM/RAG/agentic AI systems

• Experience with observability, APM tools, SLIs/SLOs, structured logging, and incident response

• Strong architectural decision-making and technical leadership experience

• Ability to communicate technical concepts to business, product, and client stakeholders • Azure experience (AKS, Cosmos DB, Azure Data Factory, Azure OpenAI)

• Geospatial/location intelligence platform experience (Esri, PostGIS, Mapbox, Azure Maps)

• Experience scaling SaaS or PaaS products from early-stage through mature production environments

• Familiarity with LLM evaluation frameworks, prompt engineering, and AI-assisted development workflows
