The role involves understanding patient conditions, medications, and self‑care skills, monitoring changing conditions, and re‑evaluating care objectives. Responsibilities Provides patient care by reviewing physician prescriptions and communicating the nursing care plan to health‑care team members, coordinating with other providers, and offering support to patients, families, and friends. Develops nursing care plans by obtaining medical histories, examining patients, documenting physical and psychological status, and establishing nursing diagnosis, objectives, and interventions. Teaches healthcare requirements by establishing patient care goals and instructing patients and families about condition, medications, and self‑care skills. Evaluates patient care by adhering to therapeutic standards, measuring health outcomes, reviewing records, noting changes, and modifying the care plan. Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy patient care environment by following infection‑control policies, medication administration protocols, controlled substance regulations, organizational standards, and legal regulations. Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records. Keeps patient care equipment operating by following instructions, troubleshooting, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, and calling for repairs. Keeps patient care supplies ready by checking stock, anticipating needs, placing orders, verifying receipt, and stocking items. Maintains competence in nursing capabilities outlined by leadership. Required Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience Registered Nurse (RN) license with the Board of Nursing and an active license in the state of practice upon hire. Preferred Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience 1–3 years of experience working in a clinical environment.
