Job Details Position Type: Substitute / Substitute Teacher Date Posted: 5/21/2026 Location: Thornridge High School Closing Date: 07/31/2026 The Permanent Substitute Teacher provides high-quality instruction and classroom management on a daily basis. This role requires the flexibility to transition between various subject areas (Math, English, CTE, etc.) and grade levels (9–12) as needs arise. Because the Building Substitute is a consistent member of the staff, they are expected to build rapport with students and uphold the school's culture and behavioral standards. Key Responsibilities Execute lesson plans provided by the absent teacher to ensure students remain on track with the curriculum. Maintain a safe, productive, and respectful learning environment in accordance with school-wide behavioral policies. Report to the main office every morning to receive daily assignments, which may include covering multiple classes or assisting in different departments throughout the day. Assist students with assignments, answer questions, and provide academic support in various subject matters.
