The pharmacist will play a critical role in providing high-quality pharmaceutical care and ensuring optimal drug therapies for patients. The ideal candidates will possess hospital pharmacy experience, particularly in an ICU setting, and contribute to various departments including behavioral health and orthopedic surgery. Responsibilities\n \n Prepare and dispense drug orders as per physician requests according to established policies and protocols. \n Interpret and transcribe drug orders into the computerized patient medication record accurately. \n Compound and dispense pharmaceuticals including sterile products and chemotherapy. \n Maintain accurate records for controlled substances and issue them to patient care areas as required. \n Monitor drug therapy regimens for contraindications, drug interactions, and appropriateness of drug and dosage. \n Provide drug information and education to healthcare professionals, patients, and families. \n Participate in quality improvement initiatives and medication use reviews. \n Attend interdisciplinary rounds and provide clinical consultation as needed. \n Maintain current knowledge of pharmaceutical advancements and ensure compliance with licensing requirements. \n Supervise pharmacy support personnel and verify daily activities of pharmacy technicians. \n Job Requirements\n \n Education: Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy required. \n Experience: Hospital pharmacy experience preferred, particularly in an ICU setting. \n Licenses/Certifications: \n \n Pharmacy state licensure required. \n BLS certification from AHA required; ACLS certification preferred. \n \n Work Schedule\n Flexible scheduling options are available, including 8, 10, and 12-hour shifts. Shift options may vary, and rotating weekends are required.
