Ace Hardware Store Key Holder

Overview An Ace Hardware Store Keyholder is a key member of the store's team who works with and supports the Store Manager. An Keyholder may also be eligible for a promotion to Assistant Manager in various locations. Responsibilities Observe and enforce all store rules and company policies. Emphasize and model company customer service standards and maintain a neat, well-groomed appearance in accordance with the dress code. Open and close the store as required. Provide outstanding customer service by greeting customers, answering inquiries, and assisting with product selection. Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system efficiently for transactions, including cash handling and cashiering duties. Demonstrate products to customers, showcasing features and benefits to enhance their shopping experience. Engage in upselling techniques to maximize sales opportunities while maintaining customer satisfaction. Maintain merchandising standards by organizing displays, stocking shelves, and ensuring product availability. Assist with unloading incoming trucks and put away merchandise. Uphold store cleanliness and organization to create an inviting atmosphere for shoppers. Qualifications Previous experience in retail management and customer service is essential; hardware store experience is a plus. Strong communication skills to engage effectively with diverse customers. Basic math skills for handling transactions and performing retail math calculations. Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling procedures. A proactive approach to merchandising and stocking responsibilities. Physical Demands Standing, reaching, stooping, kneeling, bending, moving, communicating. Frequently lift 35 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
