Custodian- CCJH

CustodianCleans and maintains building and grounds areas. Cleans classrooms, cafeteria, halls, restrooms, locker rooms, sidewalks and other areas. Performs minor repair and maintenance work. Sets up for special events. Performs other duties as required.Sweeps, mops, scrubs, and vacuums hallways, stairs and office space. Uses floor cleaning machine and other equipment. Empties trash and garbage containers. Maintains building, occasionally performing minor and routine painting, plumbing, electrical wiring, and other related maintenance activities. Changes light bulbs and replaces air conditioner filters. Notifies supervisor concerning need for major repairs or additions to lighting, heating, and ventilating equipment. Properly uses chemicals necessary to maintain cleanliness and sanitary conditions in assigned areas. Cleans debris from sidewalk. Keep custodial closets clean and orderly.To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. The employee is regularly exposed to risk of electrical shock and toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles, outside weather conditions, and vibration. The employee is frequently exposed to extreme heat. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, and extreme cold.
