Play & Learning Specialist

As we strive to innovate and build a better model of care for kids, the role of the Play & Learning Specialist — also known as a Behavior Technician or Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) — becomes paramount. Through our play-based approach, you’ll help children learn, grow, and thrive every day. Our care model draws from the Early Start Denver Model (ESDM) , a fun and engaging, play-based form of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy. By joining our team, you’ll make a direct impact on children’s lives and contribute to Soar’s mission-driven, family-centered care model. Key Responsibilities Work one-on-one with children aged 2–6 in our clinic, using play to teach new skills and support growth Implement therapy plans designed by our Masters-level clinicians using play-based ABA principles Encourage social, communication, and learning skills through engaging activities and routines Support and partner with families by sharing updates and celebrating progress Participate in ongoing training and supervision to grow your skills and maintain RBT certification Qualifications High school diploma, or equivalent, is required Strong preference for enrollment in or completion of a degree program (bonus for Child Development, Psychology, or related fields) Excitement about working with children; prior experience with kids in any setting (teaching, child care, coaching, etc.) is a plus Ability to achieve and maintain RBT certification within first 6 weeks of employment (Soar provides paid training ) Note: RBT certification required for CO Springs location Reliable transportation to training location and local center; punctuality is essential Physical requirements: ability to sit/kneel on the floor, lift up to 50 lbs., and move quickly to support a child’s needs Comfort using computers and tablets for session notes Team-oriented mindset and willingness to learn What We Offer $21.50 - $28.50/hour starting pay with regular bonus and promotion opportunities All staff members are considered every 3 months for a raise or promotion Student loan repayment and tuition reimbursement Priority access to in-network mental health support through our partnership with Sol Mental Health Clear career paths into Behavior Analysis, Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Psychology, and more A guaranteed minimum of 30 hours per week for full-time staff Paid training and support to earn your Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) credential A collaborative, fun clinic environment with tons of team support Why Join Soar?
