Order Picker

The Forklift Driver is responsible for safely operating a forklift to move, load, and organize materials within the warehouse. This role spends approximately 80% of the time operating a forklift and 20% performing order picking and general warehouse tasks to ensure accurate and efficient order fulfillment.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload trucks in a safe and timely manner.
• Transport materials throughout the warehouse using a forklift.
• Organize and store inventory in designated locations.
• Assist drivers and customers with loading materials as needed.
• Pull items from stock and build orders accurately.
• Utilize SAP to retrieve and process order tickets.
• Verify accuracy of all picks prior to shipment.
• Perform inventory counts and report discrepancies or backorders.
• Replenish warehouse inventory as needed.

Essential Skills

• Experience with forklift operation.
• Proficiency with RF Scanner.
• Skills in order picking and staging.
• Experience with inventory management.
• Ability to load and unload shipments.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Inventory control experience.
• Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, and multiplication.
• Ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Capability to lift 25 pounds or more.

Work Environment

The work environment is a new, temperature-controlled warehouse/storefront. You will be part of a small team of 3, within a facility that employs 15-20 people depending on the time of year, fostering a family-like atmosphere. The work culture is informal and laid-back, encouraging a lighthearted atmosphere as long as tasks are completed efficiently. The position is for the 1st shift, with hours from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Grimes, IA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
