As a Mechanic I on our Houston Machine Shop team, you won't just turn a wrench — you'll disassemble, rebuild, and test the compressor and engine equipment that global energy operators depend on every single day. WHAT YOU WILL DO Disassemble, position, reassemble, test, and paint moderate to highly complex compressor and engine equipment. Utilize a wide range of mechanical tools and equipment to complete assembly, disassembly, and testing tasks. Conduct risk assessments before performing operations and material movements. Troubleshoot and perform minor maintenance on mechanical equipment. Set up and run test operations in accordance with engineering specifications. Keep facility equipment and tooling operational, efficient, and safe. Identify and report problems or hazardous conditions during equipment operations. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized working environment, and complete required documentation accurately. Adhere to all Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) policies and regulations. Collaborate closely with your team and communicate clearly to keep projects on schedule. WHO YOU ARE High School Diploma or GED. 0-2 years of experience in mechanical test and assembly/disassembly, or heavy equipment repair and maintenance. Able to interpret drawings, prints, and engineering specifications. Comfortable with hands-on physical work — pushing, pulling, lifting, and bending as the job requires. Available to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed. Solid basic math skills and the ability to read schematics. Familiar with hand and power tools and general equipment operation. Knowledgeable of safety regulations and good housekeeping practices. Valid driver's license. A team player with strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently to engineering specifications. PREFERRED 2+ years of experience in operations or service center applications. Strong working knowledge of natural gas engines and compressor equipment.
