We're building more than infrastructure; we are building your future.General SummaryOperates straight or articulated rubber-tired tractor-type vehicle equipped with front-mounted hydraulically powered bucket or scoop to lift and transport bulk materials to and from storage or processing areas, to feed conveyors, hoppers, or chutes, and to load trucks or railcars. This job participates in on-the-job training.Essential Job AccountabilitiesShifts gears, presses pedals, and turns steering wheel to operate loader.Moves levers to lower and tilt bucket and drives front-end loader forward to force bucket into bulk material.Moves levers to raise and tilt bucket when filled, drives vehicle to work site, and moves levers to dump material.Performs routine maintenance on loader, such as lubricating, fueling, and cleaning.EducationHigh School Diploma, GED or equivalent years of experienceCertificationProper certification requiredWork ExperienceAppropriate training and experience requiredKnowledge, Skills and AbilitiesWorkers should be able to:Practice good safety habitsWork in dusty or dirty surroundingsFollow instructions and meet set standardsJudge distances and slopes accuratelyMake decisions based on verifiable standards.Physically, workers must be able to:Stoop, bend, and crouchUse hands, arms, and legs fullySee well (either naturally or with correction)Lift up to 50 pounds, with frequent lifting and carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds.About Granite Construction IncorporatedGranite Construction Incorporated is a member of the S&P 400 Index and is the parent company of Granite Construction Company, one of the nation's largest heavy civil contractors and construction materials producers.
