About Us
Located in the heart of Koreatown, Lapaba is neither a traditional Italian restaurant nor a classic Korean eatery, Lapaba defines itself as an “Italian/Korean Pasta Bar,” exploring the harmony between two heritage-rich cultures. Led by chefs McKenna Lelah and Matthew Kim, the restaurant features an open-kitchen format and a dedicated pasta room, where dishes are crafted to feel both familiar and entirely unexpected.
About the Kitchen
We’re a kitchen that takes culture seriously. We believe great food comes from a healthy, respectful, and curious team environment. One of our chef-partners specializes in local produce, and we’re constantly bringing in new ingredients, learning about them, and finding creative ways to showcase them. If you’re someone who’s excited to grow, taste, and stay inspired, this could be for you.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook, and plate dishes during service, with a focus on hot apps, cold apps, pasta, and other menu items
- Keep your station stocked, clean, and organized to ensure smooth, efficient service
- Communicate clearly and respectfully with teammates to keep the kitchen running seamlessly
- Maintain high standards of portioning, quality, and food safety at all times
- Collaborate closely with fellow cooks and the kitchen manager to ensure consistency and execution across all dishes
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of line cooking experience
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to consistency
- Clear communicator who works well as part of a team and is open to collaboration
- Ability to stay organized, manage time effectively, and keep composure during busy service
- Positive, cooperative attitude and a genuine respect for positive kitchen culture
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and be on your feet for extended periods
