Project Manager

Overview Job Title: Project Manager Reports to: Manager Project Units HV Location: Orange, CT (UI-CT-Marsh Hill Road) Salary: The base salary range for this position is dependent upon experience and location, ranging from $100,000 - $130,000 Job Summary The Project Manager is responsible for coordinating activities for Transmission line projects located in Connecticut and possibly New York, and will manage resource requirements, priorities, investment plans, project execution strategy and internal/external resource requirements. Projects may originate due to reliability, asset health, system capacity, customer or other project needs. Responsibilities include meeting corporate goals for capital investment, managing Construction Work in Progress, and energization of projects. Must manage team performance to maximize the effectiveness of capital budget delivery considering the environment, operating efficiency, regulatory, CWIP and operational needs. Represents the company in regulatory and public forums. Coordinate activities of project team members including engineers, construction managers, and external contractors. Facilitates the work of external contractors and other internal business areas. Holds contractors accountable for performance. Holds project team members accountable for results. Provides technical and business advice to senior management when required. Responsible for the overall project control and reporting, providing leadership and coordination of the scheduling, cost controlling and reporting processes and functions. Ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget and in conformance to quality and engineering standards. Major Roles & Responsibilities Work within the project unit, managing internal and external project resources. Oversee project budgets, O&M and Capital. Analyze project performance and initiate actions to control scope, schedule, and cost performance. Proactively oversee work and take actions to ensure budgets and deadlines are achieved. Approve project plans, execute contract strategies to undertake work, and control expenditures. Initiate actions to ensure compliance with project management and quality management processes and procedures. Ensure projects are completed within the approved scope, schedule, and budget. Inform management and project teams regarding cost and schedule performance variances and corrective actions required. Coordinate with other departments, consultants, attorneys, utilities, municipal stakeholders and local permitting agencies, regulatory agencies, government agencies, and major customers. May represent the company and testify in regulatory hearings or at Federal, State, local agency, or municipal meetings. Ensure project accountability complies with FERC, NERC, and any other applicable regulation. Explore innovative ways to undertake work, promote automation and efficiencies in day-to-day work streams. Provide recommendations on policies and goals and implement new/revised processes and procedures. Ensure risk control systems are utilized. Define risk, costs and mitigation action analyses. Attend executive management meetings, providing and presenting cost-schedule-risk views as required. Qualifications Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree with 3-5 years of relevant experience. Degree in Engineering or experience in energy industry preferred.
