Our interdisciplinary team works closely with patients and families to reduce aggressive behaviors, improve social functioning, and help each child successfully reintegrate into their community — because at Nexus, we're mending minds.Position SummaryThe Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct nursing care to children and adolescents with autism, developmental disabilities, and behavioral health needs. The RN works as part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, consistent, and compassionate care while maintaining the structured environment required for this patient population.This role requires strong clinical judgment, patience, and the ability to work with patients who may have behavioral, emotional, or developmental challenges.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide direct nursing care in accordance with physician orders and individualized care plansAdminister medications, treatments, and medical interventions safely and accuratelyMonitor patient health status, behavior, and emotional presentationSupport behavioral interventions and structured treatment plansRespond to behavioral escalations using approved de-escalation techniquesCollaborate with physicians, therapists, behavioral specialists, and interdisciplinary team membersEducate families on treatment plans, medications, and behavioral strategiesMaintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical recordFollow Nexus policies, HIPAA standards, and regulatory requirementsSupport patient safety initiatives and quality improvement activitiesPromote a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment for all patientsQualificationsCurrent Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Texas requiredBLS certification requiredACLS and PALS required within 45 days of hireDe-escalation training required within 30 days of hireAssociate Degree in Nursing required, BSN preferredNew graduates are welcome to applyExperience with pediatric, behavioral health, developmental disabilities, or inpatient care preferredAbility to work effectively within a multidisciplinary clinical teamCompassionate, patient-centered approach to careComfort working in a structured behavioral environmentOur Core Values: GOPTICAt Nexus, GOPTIC is more than a slogan—it's the foundation of how we care for children and families.Genuine – We act with honesty, integrity, and empathy in all interactions.
