Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Job TitleRequired Skills & Experience• Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering with 8+ years of relevant experience OR MS with 6+ years of relevant experience Relevant experience includes designs for capital equipment, vacuum systems, subassemblies, or components • Experience with Solidworks, AutoCAD, ProE/PTC Creo or a similar 3D CAD system • Hands-on troubleshooting • Semiconductor equipment design experience, including RF systems, plasma chambers, ESC, and other major systems/subsystems • Able to travel up to 30% to customer sites and/or supplier facilities on an as-needed basisNice to Have Skills & Experience• SAP or PLM experience • Finite element analysis (FEA) experience to validate designs • Industrial control systems, sensors, automation, robotics, instrumentation, motion control, motor selection, encoders, and electronic packaging knowledge • Project management experienceCompensation: $139k/year to $176k/yearExact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.Job Description• Responsible for leading the development of vacuum process equipment, including all mechanical design aspects and manufacturing of equipment, subassemblies and components Emphasizing focus of design quality, reliability, cost effectiveness, and manufacturing ease • Perform necessary analytical studies and theoretical calculations including vacuum vessels, heat transfer, material structural analysis, static and dynamic, fluids, and motion mechanisms • Define design specifications off of customer requirements and capabilities • Ensure manufacturing processes follow standard design practices and safety codes • Responsible for presentations on design concepts, ideas, and test results for both internal and external customers • Participate in design reviews, supporting procurement efforts aligned with project deadlines and providing mechanical engineering expertise • Hands-on assistance for the manufacturing team, as needed • Create and develop test plans and designs for experiments directly involved with prototyping • Create engineering documentation through the ECO process
