CDL Driver

Work Hours Full‑time CDL Driver, Monday – Friday 7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., every other Saturday 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. (Summer hours 7:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.; Winter hours 7:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.). Essential Duties and Responsibilities Drive truck to destination & prepare receipts for load picked up. Deliver invoices for goods delivered. Maintain truck log, according to state and federal regulations. Maintain telephone contact with supervisor to receive delivery instructions. Load and unload truck. Inspect truck equipment & supplies such as tires, tie‑downs, lights, brakes, gas, oil, & water. Daily complete and file maintenance report. Position blocks and tie rope around items to secure cargo during transit. Develop a list of prospective customers by observing business activity while driving through business territory. Review orders for opportunities to expand services available to existing customers. Confers with customers and company officials to resolve complaints. Report all accidents, near misses, and traffic stops to direct or departmental supervisor immediately. Readily comply with all DOT required testing and training regulations. Perform Yard/Warehouse activities when not assigned driving duties. Participate in all required training assignments. Display teamwork and effort in performance of all duties. Education and Experience Valid CDL Driver’s License. Comply with all DOT laws and regulations. Preferred one‑year delivery driving experience. Forklift training and demonstrated ongoing forklift operation competency required. Physical Demands The employee will need to frequently communicate with others and must be able to exchange accurate information. Manual dexterity is required to operate a variety of machinery and equipment. The employee frequently lifts and/or moves items up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds. Work Environment Employees are regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration, to outside weather conditions, to moving mechanical parts, and to a risk of electrical shock.
