iLEAD: Program Manager

Program ManagerGeneral purpose: Program Managers (PM) serve in a leadership position within the MICA Program Board (MPB), and support the planning and implementation of major campus programs on behalf of the Center for Student Engagement (CSE). This position will begin in mid-August and end the day after Commencement.Summary of Essential FunctionsProgram Manager are part-time, 5-8 hour per week student staff members in the Center for Student Engagement and are hired for a 1 year commitmentThe MICA Program Board consists of three committees, each co-chaired by two Program Managers who oversee the planning, marketing, and implementation of a minimum of five events per yearEssential Duties & ResponsibilitiesServe as a committee co-chair with one other PM, collectively overseeing a group of volunteer committee members (i.e. Program Assistants)Collaborate with assigned committee to plan, market, and implement a minimum of two (2) programs in the fall and three (3) programs in the springCoordinate all activities in conjunction with planned events, including set-up, tear down, and clean upParticipate in weekly MICA Program Board staff meetings, every Wednesday from 2:15 -3:45 pm (1.5 hour)Co-facilitate bi-weekly committee meetings (1 hour during every other staff meeting)Attend weekly supervisory meeting (alternating weekly between 1 hour triad with co-chair and Program Director and 30 minute one-on-one with Program Director)Maintain a minimum of three (3) weekly office hours in CSEAssist with the planning & implementation of all major CSE events including:Halloween PartyLast BlastAssist as needed with general office representation (e.g. Open House, Portfolio Day, iLEAD, etc)Support Fall Orientation, which may include serving as an Orientation Leader and/or coordinating evening programs and eventsPerform other related duties as assignedKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesDemonstrates efficient time management while prioritizing workloadStrong organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to communicate effectively with collaborators and teammates, via email and in-personStrong interpersonal relationship skills and the ability to work collaboratively with othersAbility to consider the diverse needs and interests of the MICA student body, and address these through intentional and thoughtful programmingMinimum QualificationsMust be a currently enrolled MICA undergraduate student at time of employmentMust maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5Demonstrated leadership abilitiesA desire to serve the MICA communityPreferred QualificationsPrior experience in program/event planning preferred but not requiredCompensation$15/hourMeals during trainings and retreatsMICA Program Board t-shirtConditions of EmploymentProgram Managers are expected to attend mandatory trainings in fall and spring, as outlined below:Fall Training: Approximately two weeks before classes start (includes Joint Student Leader Training: late August). Exact dates and times to be determined.Spring Retreat: Late January.
