Global Indirect Tax Automation Senior Associate (Tax Technology)

Job Summary As the Global Indirect Tax Automation Senior Associate, you’ll implement and build third‑party tax systems with major third‑party ERP and billing platforms (SAP, Oracle, Workday, PeopleSoft, Great Plains), as well as custom billing systems for your clients across a wide variety of industries, all with the resources, environment and support to help you excel. You’ll collaborate with team members, practice leadership, and our diverse client base and will play a key role in gathering requirements, design, build, and testing implementation. Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities Working on assigned third‑party tax software implementations (Vertex, Avalara, Sovos, Thomson Reuters) and custom software development projects Managing assigned system integration projects that involve major ERP and billing systems, such as SAP, Oracle, PeopleSoft, JD Edwards, etc. Requirements analysis and design for indirect tax software implementations Managing programming for custom system interfaces and modification of pre‑existing interfaces Managing testing and support of assigned system go‑live projects Developing and delivering key project documentation including requirements documents, design documents, and test plans Participating in sales meetings and proposal development meetings Networking and developing key relationships both within Grant Thornton and externally Other duties as assigned Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field Three‑five years of experience with SAP/Oracle functional and/or technical experience Two years of Oracle EBS/ERP Cloud/SAP ABAP Design and Development experience Deep technical understanding of SAP or Oracle, including customization path, table structures, and core functional Order‑to‑Cash and Procure‑to‑Pay streams SAP Namespace development a plus Experience writing documentation for ERP implementations Experience managing and developing team members for these types of implementations Experience in public accounting is a plus Strong computer skills required Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to travel as needed Salary Range The base salary range for this position is between $111,320 and $141,933. Placement within the pay range is at Grant Thornton’s discretion, and it is based on multiple factors, including but not limited to, job‑related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, progression within the role, geographic location, and internal equity. Interns also receive a minimum of 72 hours of paid sick leave and are paid for firm holidays that fall within their internship period. Benefits for seasonal employee positions: Grant Thornton seasonal employees are eligible to participate in the firm’s medical, dental and vision insurance programs and the firm’s employee assistance program. Seasonal employees may also be eligible to participate in the firm’s 401(k) savings plan and employee retirement plan in accordance with applicable plan terms and eligibility requirements. Seasonal employees receive a minimum of 72 hours of paid sick leave. Grant Thornton employees may be eligible for a discretionary, annual bonus based on individual and firm performance, subject to the terms, conditions and eligibility criteria of the applicable bonus plan or program.
