Description

The Accounts Payable Manager is responsible for overseeing the organization's accounts payable function, ensuring timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices, payments, expense reports, and related financial transactions. This role manages the AP team, maintains strong internal controls, supports month-end close activities, and partners with business leaders to optimize cash flow and supplier relationships.

Accounts Payable Operations

• Manage the day-to-day accounts payable activities, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor AP aging reports and resolve outstanding issues promptly.

Team Leadership

• Lead, mentor, and develop team of 8 Accounts Payable Specialists.
• Establish performance expectations and conduct regular performance evaluations.
• Provide training on accounting procedures, internal controls, and system enhancements.
• Promote a culture of accountability, customer service, and continuous improvement.

Financial Reporting & Controls

• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.
• Prepare AP-related reports, analyses, and accruals as required.
• Maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and prevent fraud.
• Assist with external audits by providing required documentation and explanations.

Process Improvement & Technology

• Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
• Utilize ERP systems and AP automation tools to streamline workflows.
• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for AP functions.
• Support system upgrades, testing, and implementation projects.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive accounts payable experience.
• 2+ years of supervisory or management experience.
• Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and accounting principles.
• Experience with SAP preferred. 
• Experience working in a multi-location or high-volume transaction environment preferred.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to effectively manage competing priorities.
