Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and responsible OTR Box Truck Driver with a clean driving record to join our dynamic transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating a box truck for over-the-road deliveries, ensuring timely and accurate transportation of freight across various routes. Your dedication to safety, attention to detail, and excellent driving skills will contribute to our commitment to exceptional service and operational efficiency. Responsibilities
- Safely operate a box truck on over-the-road routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, including checking manual transmission systems and refrigeration units when applicable
- Plan optimal routes for timely deliveries, maintaining communication with dispatch for updates or route adjustments
- Secure cargo properly using appropriate equipment such as straps or load bars to prevent shifting during transit
- Complete all necessary documentation accurately, including delivery receipts, logs, and inspection reports
- Maintain a clean driving record by practicing safe driving habits and following company policies
Experience
- Proven experience as a commercial driver with a focus on truck driving or delivery routes
- Prior experience with route driving, load & unload procedures, and freight handling is highly preferred
- Ability to operate additional equipment like pallet jacks when necessary for loading or unloading freight
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to trucking operations and cargo securement techniques
- Valid Class C or higher license with a clean driving record is required
