About the Position

Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse / Behavioral Health – Maryland

Start Date: November 30, 2026

Location: Randallstown, Maryland

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 3x12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM. Every other weekend required. Float within scope as needed to meet facility needs.

Highlights:

• 37-bed acute inpatient Behavioral Health unit serving adult and geriatric psychiatric patients with an average daily census of 30
• Patient ratio of 1:6 for both day and night shifts
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including social workers, recreational therapy, pharmacy, respiratory services, and radiology
• Cerner EMR with Omnicell medication dispensing system
• 24 hours of orientation provided
• Rotating holiday schedule with every other winter and summer holiday required

Requirements:

• Valid Maryland or Compact RN license required at time of submission
• Minimum 1 year of Behavioral Health RN experience required
• Inpatient and locked-unit Behavioral Health experience required
• Experience with 1:6 patient ratios required
• Experience with seclusion protocols and voluntary/involuntary commitment required
• BLS certification required
• Certification in Aggressive Management preferred
• Cerner experience preferred
• First-time travelers accepted; local candidates welcome

Clinical Focus:

• Care for patients with bipolar disorder, schizoaffective disorder, schizophrenia, anxiety disorders, depression, and psychosis
• Skills in de-escalation techniques, behavior management, physical hold protocols, and emergent chemical restraints
• Experience managing suicidal behavior, self-injurious behavior, and profound impulse control issues
• Patients admitted from the ED and outside referrals meeting acute psychiatric admission criteria
