Sexual Assault Advocate - Rathgeber Village

SAFE Alliance seeks a Sexual Assault Victim Advocate for the Community Services Program in the Sexual Assault Services department. Advocates are dispatched to any medical facility in Travis County and must present to accompaniment site within one hour of dispatch. Provide strengths-based, trauma-informed follow-up advocacy in English and Spanish to survivors. Train and mentor new advocates in the course of completing a buddy accompaniment. During that time, SAFE reached more than 50,000 community members through over 2,000 trainings, provided more than 150,000 nights and days of shelter and housing support, and delivered over 53,000 crisis intervention and advocacy services through our 24/7 hotline, walk-in advocacy, and direct support programs. We are looking for one person to work on a full-time, non-exempt basis for an annual salary of $49,000 - $52,700 dependent upon experience. The work location will be based at our Rathgeber Village Campus in the Mueller area. SOME travel in the community or between campuses and will allow for SOME remote/hybrid work. Availability to work full-time (40 hours per week), including evening/night/weekend hours required. This position requires a flexible work schedule in order to meet the demands of the Sexual Assault Victim Advocacy program. Attendance is required once a month at an evening team meeting. This position requires participation in a 24/7 On Call rotation. Required Qualifications: Minimum 1 year experience providing crisis stabilization support and advocacy or case management services to trauma/sexual assault survivors required. Knowledge of issues related to violence against women, sexual assault, domestic violence and human trafficking required. Work independently, exercise initiative, and accomplish tasks without continuous supervision. Knowledgeable about local medical, criminal justice and social service agencies preferred. Possess, or quickly learn about, current information in relation to services around health, basic needs, legal, crisis services, housing, and financial assistance. This position requires in-person service delivery, even during COVID19. Personal Protective Equipment is provided and required. Characterized as primarily non-sedentary work requiring exertion up to 30 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Must be sighted and hearing, with reasonable accommodations, and able to stand in small spaces for 1 or more hours during accompaniments. Work positions, approximated: standing 20%, sitting 60%, walking 20%. Significant computer work is required. Use of an agency cellphone and laptop for all work is required. Regular travel between hospitals and community agencies. Must have and maintain reliable transportation, driver's license, and state-required vehicle insurance. Mileage reimbursement is provided for required travel. This position requires driving. You must have a valid, State of Texas Driver's License (If in possession of an out-of-state license, obtain a State of Texas Driver's License within 90 days of beginning employment.) AND at least three (3) consecutive years of driving experience OR one (1) year of driving experience if over 27 years of age AND an acceptable driving record that covers at least the last three years of driver history. This position requires completion of the 40-Hour Office of Attorney General Sexual Assault Advocacy Training Program in person within six (6) months of starting employment, along with participating in annual continuing education throughout your employment. Pass all required criminal history background checks (including an FBI fingerprint check if applicable), as well as a pre-employment drug screen and TB test, if applicable.
