Job Description
This role supports the installation of a custom-designed, mechanized conveyor system in an industrial warehouse environment. You will use your mechanical and construction experience to assemble, move, and install conveyor components while working from technical drawings and at elevated heights. The position is project-based and best suited for individuals with a background in trades such as millwrighting, carpentry, HVAC, repair, or automotive/diesel technology who can provide and safely use their own tools.
Responsibilities

• Assist with the installation of a custom mechanized conveyor system inside an industrial warehouse.
• Move, assemble, dismantle, and install machinery and conveyor components according to project requirements.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and assembly prints to perform accurate installations.
• Assemble conveyor parts and steel structures using hand tools and power tools.
• Operate a scissor lift safely to perform work at heights up to three stories.
• Work comfortably and safely at elevated heights while following all safety protocols.
• Use mechanical and construction skills to complete tasks such as alignment, fastening, and securing of equipment.
• Maintain and use personal tools effectively, ensuring they are suitable for mechanical and construction tasks.
• Collaborate with other skilled trades workers on-site to complete project milestones on schedule.
• Follow project timelines and work a structured schedule of long shifts over consecutive days.
• Adhere to all site safety rules, including proper use of tools, equipment, and fall protection as required.
• Report any issues, delays, or safety concerns to site leadership in a timely manner.

Essential Skills

• 2-3+ years of construction or closely related mechanical experience.
• Proficiency in mechanical assembly, including moving, assembling, dismantling, or installing machinery or conveyor systems.
• Ability to read and execute work from technical blueprints and assembly prints.
• Comfort working at heights up to three stories, including while using a scissor lift.
• Experience using hand tools and power tools for mechanical and construction tasks.
• Experience with steel assembly and structural component installation.
• Ownership of a suitable set of tools required for mechanical and construction work.
• Skilled trade such as millwright, carpenter, HVAC technician, repair technician, or automotive/diesel technician, or equivalent mechanical experience.
• Ability to work 10-hour shifts with an additional 1-hour lunch period.
• Reliability and stamina to work a schedule of consecutive days, including a 10 days on, 1 day off, 10 days on rotation.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous experience installing or maintaining conveyor systems in industrial environments.
• Experience working in warehouses or large industrial facilities.
• Familiarity with project-based work and fixed-term industrial installation projects.
• Strong attention to detail when following technical drawings and assembly instructions.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary trades team.
• Comfort adapting to changing project needs and schedules over the course of the assignment, which continues until April 2025.

Work Environment
Work takes place inside a large industrial warehouse facility in Raymore, within a modern distribution and fulfillment environment. The role involves working around active construction and installation activities, with frequent use of scissor lifts and other equipment to access heights up to three stories. The standard schedule consists of 10-hour shifts with a 1-hour lunch, structured as 10 days on, 1 day off, followed by another 10 days on and then 9 days off. The project is expected to continue until April 2025. You will work with hand tools, power tools, and steel assembly components in a busy, industrial setting that requires adherence to safety standards and appropriate work attire suitable for a construction and warehouse environment.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
