TECHNOLOGY ALIGNMENT MANAGER (TAM)

We are seeking a technically sharp, detail-driven professional to serve as our Technology Alignment Manager . Think of this role as the reality check between what our technical team finds in the field and what our sales team eventually proposes. You'll spend part of your week on customer sites, digging into their environments to catch risk and drift before it becomes a problem, and part of your week behind the scenes shaping quotes, designs, and Scopes of Work so that whatever gets sold can be delivered well. It's a role for someone who can hold their own troubleshooting a server rack in the morning and walking a client through a proposal in the afternoon.

Responsibilities:

• Visit customer sites on a set schedule to evaluate the health of their computer and network environments.
• Spot gaps between what's deployed in the field and the internal build standards, and write those findings up clearly.
• Run the technical review step of the process new customers go through when they first come on board.
• Flag risks, dependencies, and assumptions tied to a proposed fix or upgrade before it ever reaches a quote.
• Fix the most urgent issues on the spot when an assessment turns up something serious.
• Go back into client records after each visit and make sure the documentation matches reality.
• Turn assessment notes into a briefing the Virtual CIO can actually use when mapping out a client's IT roadmap.
• Own incoming quote requests for both brand-new and existing accounts.
• Sketch out technical solutions that fit the customer's existing setup, their stated needs, and the way the company builds things.
• Put together a full parts-and-pricing list for each proposal, checking vendor cost and margin before it moves forward.
• Reach out to vendors and distributors directly to nail down configurations, pricing, and lead times.
• Sanity-check every proposed solution for feasibility and long-term supportability before it's positioned to a client.
• Hold the line on internal build standards while designing solutions, so risk and rework stay low.
• Write Scopes of Work that spell out exactly what's included, what's excluded, and who's responsible for what.
• Double-check that each Scope of Work still matches the solution as designed once it's finalized.
• Stay looped in with sales, the vCIO team, and engineering so nothing gets lost between design and delivery.
• Sit on the internal group that sets and updates technical build standards.
• Sit on the internal group focused on cutting down repeat issues and wasted effort across the customer base.
• Keep the customer's interests front and center in every decision.
• Log time daily so work is captured accurately for billing and reporting.
• Invest in client relationships that hold up over time.
• Follow developments in the broader business and regulatory landscape that could affect customers.
• Handle customer and company data with care and discretion at all times.

Required Qualifications:

• A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a comparable field of study.
• 5 to 7 years in a hands-on technical role at an MSP, VAR, or B2B IT services company, ideally touching pre-sales, solution design, or account management along the way.
• A track record working inside a B2B services model.
• Time spent on quoting, solution design, or scoping work ahead of a sale.
• Direct experience negotiating with vendors and distributors on pricing, configuration, and delivery timelines.
• The ability to turn a technical design into a Scope of Work someone outside engineering can actually read.
• Solid grounding in how IT systems and infrastructure should be built and configured.
• A working knowledge of how to spot and manage risk in a technical environment.
• A broad view of how IT systems, workflows, and dependencies interact — and what breaks when they don't.
• Communication skills strong enough to hold your own in both a server room and a boardroom.
• A valid driver’s license

Travel: Regular on-site customer visits.

Status: Full-time.

Salary: 80K to 105K
