EP Advanced Cardiovascular Special Procedures Technologist

Primary City/State: Phoenix, Arizona Department Name: Electrophysiology-Hosp Work Shift: Day Job Category: Clinical Care Shift Requirement: Monday–Friday, 06:30–17:00 (4–10 hours) or 06:30–19:00 (3–12 hours). No weekends, no call. Position Summary This role is a senior or advanced level Special Procedures Technologist in a state‑of‑the‑art Electrophysiology laboratory. Responsibilities include performing sterile scrubbing, comprehensive charting and documentation, and handling EP MED: stim systems while supporting a diverse range of cardiac procedures such as electrophysiology ablations, cardiac device implants (pacemakers, ICDs, CRT devices), Left Atrial Appendage Closure (LAAC) procedures, and other advanced interventions. The technologist will work closely with physicians, nurses, and other allied health staff to provide quality patient care. Core Functions Assume responsibility for direct patient care as necessary, providing or facilitating patient care for the patient population and serving as a resource for staff. Serve as the primary resource for equipment education and provide user education on medical equipment and EP program needs when applicable. Facilitate patient flow and serve as a resource to patients, families, providers, and staff in patient care, while interpreting policies within the clinical setting. Perform scheduled/preventive maintenance, electrical safety inspections, and quality assurance on patient care equipment in a timely manner per regulatory standards. Support change initiatives and assist in the development, interpretation, implementation, and evaluation of process improvement and quality management activities. Maintain confidentiality of work information and adhere to safety policies and professional responsibilities related to imaging practice. Demonstrate principles of aseptic and sterile techniques, dose universal precautions throughout the procedure, dispose sharps and trash, and prepare instruments for cleaning after each case. Ensure the efficient operation of department workflow and perform prescribed procedures per established policies and procedures. Minimum Qualifications Certificate or diploma from an approved/accredited Radiologic Technology program. ARRT certification in Radiologic Technology required by state law. Licensure/certification as required by state regulatory agency, if applicable. Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required where applicable. Post‑primary certification with a minimum of 3 years of Cath Lab, Electrophysiology (EP), or equivalent experience, or 5 years of experience with 2 years in a moderate acuity/complex coronary environment. Effective communication, human relations, analytical, and problem‑solving skills. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree preferred. Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
