Duties

As an AIRCRAFT PNEUDRAULIC SYSTEMS MECHANIC, WG-8268-10, you will perform maintenance and operational and functional checks on assigned pneudraulic systems. Perform installation, modification, and/or repair of aircraft pneudraulic systems. Perform organizational and field level maintenance to include periodic, phase time, calendar, unscheduled, and special inspection. Prepare for and participates in various types of readiness evaluations such as ORI, IG and UE inspections, mobility, and command support exercises. Perform other duties as assigned.

AOC 2: NG employees in the 171st Air Refueling Wing (This includes 258th ATCS, 146 Weather Flight, 146 ARS, and 147 ARS)

AOC 4: All service members of the Pennsylvania National Guard (This includes Traditional Airmen, Temporary Technicians and AGR Personnel)

AOC 5: Individuals who are currently serving in another branch of service who are willing to become members of the PANG

-Individual(s) nominated must successfully complete a baseline initial employment physical examination in accordance with 5 CFR, Part 339 and Technician Personnel Regulation TPR 335.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE : - Experience or training which demonstrates your knowledge of basic electrical and mechanical principles; knowledge of troubleshooting procedures used to isolate malfunctions in aircraft pneudraulic systems; and ability to use technical manuals, equipment specifications, and test calibration procedures in performing the work.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Experience or training which provided a knowledge of basic electrical and mechanical principles. Experience in fabricating fuel, oil and vacuum hose lines. Experience in servicing, maintaining, disassembling assembling, repairing and testing hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Experience in diagnosing malfunctions and overhauling pneudraulic accessories by disassembling, cleaning part and examining parts. Experience in diagnosing trouble and determining remedies. Experience in repairing, rebuilding and overhauling major systems of ground equipment and pneumatic and hydraulic systems. Experience in mechanical repairs using hand tools and test equipment. Experience that demonstrates the ability to interpret technical manuals, specifications and publications.

QUALITY OF EXPERIENCE: Length of time is not of itself qualifying. Candidates' experience should be evaluated on the basis of duties performed rather than strictly on the rank of the individual; however, established compatibility criteria/assignments must be followed. The applicant's record of experience, training, and education must show possession of the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to fully perform the duties of the position to be filled.

Technicians who have been demoted from this or a higher grade previously held in the same occupational series without personal cause and who are not in a grade retention status will be given consideration for re-promotion.
