Senior Director, Commercialization Technology Architect

Vertex Pharmaceuticals seeks a Senior Director to architect enterprise-scale AI and digital systems across commercial and medical operations. This technical leadership role defines target-state architectures, integration patterns, and platform standards to enable secure, compliant solutions across CRM, data, and AI capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain target-state architecture across Commercial and Medical ecosystems with governance standards
• Own integration patterns and data flows across Salesforce, Veeva, and enterprise platforms with event-driven design
• Lead architecture decisions for build vs. buy solutions and establish DevOps deployment patterns
• Ensure architectures meet compliance, security, and observability requirements with embedded controls
• Partner with Product, Engineering, and Data teams to translate requirements into production-ready system designs

Requirements

• 12+ years enterprise or solution architecture experience
• Deep expertise in CRM platforms (Salesforce, Veeva) and commercial systems
• Proven ability designing complex integrations and data architectures at scale
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and data warehouses (Snowflake, Databricks)
• Strong understanding of AI/ML architectures and LLM-based system design
• Expertise in regulated environments (SOX, GxP, privacy, security compliance)
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

Compensation: $228,000 - $342,000 base
