Software Engineer IV (Team Lead) – Supply Chain

Location: Remote Client Location: Seattle, Washington, USA Contract Duration: 6 Months (May 2026 – Nov 2026) Working Hours: 40 hrs/week Employment Type: Contract

Overview

Supply Chain Transportation team, working on mission-critical systems that power inventory movement across the retail network. This role focuses on building scalable, high-performance solutions that improve transportation visibility, optimize logistics operations, and enhance customer experience.

As a Software Engineer IV (Team Lead), you will drive system design, architecture, and technical leadership across distributed systems, working closely with cross-functional teams including Merchandising, Inventory, and Data Analytics.

Key Responsibilities

Lead design and architecture of scalable, distributed systems
Develop high-quality backend services using Java & Spring Boot
Build and optimise microservices and RESTful APIs
Drive best practices in secure, scalable, and high-performance development
Lead and mentor engineers, breaking down complex work into deliverables
Troubleshoot and resolve performance, scalability, and production issues
Conduct root cause analysis and support cross-team incident resolution
Contribute to engineering standards, frameworks, and reusable components
Implement observability using logging, monitoring, and telemetry tools
Collaborate with DevOps, QA, and Product teams to deliver end-to-end solutions

Required Skills & Experience

7+ years of professional software engineering experience
Strong expertise in: Java, Spring Boot; Microservices & REST APIs; Docker & Kubernetes (Containerization)
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS and/or GCP)
Strong system design, scalability, and performance optimization experience
Experience with relational & NoSQL databases
Hands-on experience with messaging systems (Kafka/SQS)
Familiarity with: CI/CD pipelines; Terraform or Infrastructure as Code; Testing frameworks (Unit, Integration, Load testing)
Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., New Relic, Splunk)
