Pediatric Cardiac Surgeon Charlottesville, Virginia The University of Virginia (UVA) Children's Hospital and the Division of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery are seeking applications to join the faculty in the Section of Congenital Heart Surgery. The role includes all aspects of clinical care for congenital cardiac populations, and the candidate will join Dr. James Gangemi in a busy, comprehensive congenital heart program. A strong interest in research and education is preferred, with opportunities for basic science and translational research as well as support for clinical research interests. Qualifications MD, certified by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery (ABTS), with additional ABTS certification in Congenital Cardiac Surgery. Strong clinical background and interest in complex neonatal heart surgery, pediatric heart transplantation, and pediatric mechanical circulatory support.
